For more than 50 years, Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library has been internationally renowned for its vast collection of uncommon and extraordinary books, manuscripts, and historically significant objects.
Eastern Standard was pleased to be chosen to work with this prestigious organization in the design of a new visual identity and resource-rich website — and to partner with Message Agency, who provided the information and UX design and developed the site.

Integrated search options increase functionality and accessibility for the client’s immense digital data collection.
The launch of Beinecke’s new Drupal website coincided with the 50th anniversary celebration for the library, as well as the introduction of a new online digital library that offers access to tens of thousands of partial and fully digitized materials from the collections. These digital resources were made more functional and easily accessible, thanks to integrated search options that query the various legacy databases. Accordingly, the new homepage now features collection highlights from the digital library, previewed in an iconic shape that reflects the building’s distinctive architectural detailing.

The site’s document collection and sophisticated search features are fully accessible to users on any device.
