Since its founding in 1888, the member companies of the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) have embraced a strong commitment to the highest standards of excellence in the construction, operation and maintenance of boilers and boiler systems. One of the most important tools toward this end is training. Although ABMA does not offer instructor-led training courses of its own, many ABMA member companies do offer very fine training programs to the public, covering many boiler types and sizes, their operation and maintenance and inspection criteria.

In its continuing effort to bring training opportunities to the widest number of individuals possible, ABMA is happy to support the training activities of its member companies and to provide links to the companies listed on this page.

These ABMA member companies are listed impartially in alphabetical order, and each link is accompanied by a brief discussion of the training opportunities offered by that company.

The information regarding training programs and courses is provided by the member companies. Inclusion in this listing does not constitute an endorsement or warranty by ABMA of any training program or course. ABMA is not responsible for the conduct of any program or course and has not reviewed them for content.

Additionally, the program stresses safety and the proper operating practices required to maximize efficient and reliable service of the equipment.
Boiler Systems PLUS Seminar Level TWO is a seminar designed for Facilities managers, Energy managers, Plant managers, Plant engineers, Boiler Room supervisors, or anyone in an energy or safety overseeing capacity. This two-day course is designed to make the recipient more knowledgeable of how steam and hot water systems operate and how they can be improved to positively impact cost of operation, return on assets, reliability and safety.
Steam Plant Energy; Comprehend, Maximize, Manage is a seminar designed for individuals who have responsibility for the safe operation and efficient management of the steam system. The participant in this three-day program will walk away from the session with an excellent grasp of boilers, burners and related equipment including the systems which control their safe operation. Using the “team” approach, the individuals will analyze steam system schemes, learning the essentials of good design and how the system can be modified or improved to maximize fuel to steam efficiency, up time and return on investment. An (optional) exam is administered at the end of the training and a passing score results in certification through the Quantum Steam Association.
