The American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) was born just over
one-hundred-fifteen years ago out of a concern for honest workmanship
and with an intolerance for careless and inferior design and fabrication
practices. While ABMA's dedication to the safe design, manufacture, installation,
use and maintenance of boilers and combustion equipment has never wavered
over the ensuing years, the Association's goals and objectives have broadened
to include the advancement of technology, innovative designs and applications,
and common-sense-based governmental policies to insure the availability
of not only safe, but clean, efficient, cost-effective, and reliable boiler,
combustion, and environmental systems - to meet the energy and comfort
needs of America and the world. ABMA has a long and proud history of accomplishment; a significant component
of that accomplishment has been those individuals within the American
boiler and combustion equipment industry who have given selflessly of
themselves to the betterment of not only their industry but of their trade
association. Periodically, the ABMA has recognized these leaders for their
"Distinguished Service" by conferring upon them either Honorary
Membership (until 1992) or the Association's coveted Distinguished Service
Award. The list of Honorary Members and Distinguished Service Award recipients
reads like a Who's Who of the boiler and combustion equipment industry
- individuals whose accomplishments and tireless devotion to and involvement
in their industry, through the ABMA, have left an indelible testament
to innovation, creativity, safety and workmanship. |

| The accomplishments of individual members of the Association were marked by awarding of Honorary Membership up until the year 1990. After that year, distinguished service was noted by conference of the Association's Distinguished Service Award.
